Home objects, made to be repaired.
Designed from scratch and made to order — built so the parts that wear out can be fixed, not replaced.

Founder of Makeandmatter ... puts sustainability at the heart of every creation. The current collection focuses on lamps and clocks inspired by mid-century modern design.
Made for a home, shared with others
makeandmatter began as a pursuit to create objects for our own home. Family and friends took notice, and their interest inspired us to start this brand and share our creations with others.
Home studio, not a factory
Each creation is designed from scratch and made in to order.
Designed to be repaired
We believe that good things should be repairable and last for years.
Inspired by the outdoors
Water, greenery and the rhythm of everyday life. Not made up but noticed.

The ebbs and flows of life shape the names of our pieces
Our lamp collection is named after parts of a river, tying back to fishing, a passion of ours. An eddy is where the current slows and curls back on itself. A riffle is where the stream ripples shallow over stone.
The Datum clock draws on years spent as a competitive swimmer, watching a two-faced pool clock count down every lap. That clock became its own kind of datum: a fixed point to measure against, a way to know how much practice was left."
